We Believe....

  • We believe there is only one true God, - the Father, the Creator of all things; the Son, who through his death on the cross, has redeemed us for sin, death, and the power of the devil; and the Holy Spirit, who sacrifices and keeps us in the true faith.
  • We believe God created the world out of nothing by His almightly word over a period of six natural days.
  • We hold all the prophetic and apostolic Scriptures to be inspired of "God-breathed" and wholly true.
  • We believe the two great messages found in the Bible are the Law and Gospel.  The Law shows us our sins, condems us and pronounces death.  The Gospel shows us a Savior and gives us new life now and eternal life in heaven.
  • We confess, as faithful and true, the doctrine of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, drawn from scriptures, as taught in Martin Luther's Small Catechism.
  • We believe that we cannot on our own come to Jesus or believe in Him.  It is only through the work of the Holy Spirit that this is done.
  • We believe that receiving the gifts of grace recieved by the Holy Spirit are the means by which the spirit brings us to faith and increase our faith.  These means of grace are the Word (Bible) and Sacraments (Baptism and Lord's Supper).  Through these means God gives forgiveness of sin, new power for daily living and the hope of eternal life.
  • We believe that God comes to us to give His gifts of grace each time we gather in His house of worship.
  • We believe that man was born into sin and is naturally sinful as found in Romans 3:23.  We can only achieve eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, God's gracious gift to us.  Christ suffered and died and rose again for our sins, so that we may have eternal life.
